In 2019, we published a paper on measles and rabies viruses whose replication and gene expression can be optically controlled by blue light (Tahara M et al. 2019 PNAS). We have now successfully applied this technology to bovine parainfluenza virus type 3. This is expected to further expand the range of applications of this optically controllable virus vector technology.
